Project: Water harvesting with earthworks

Description

As part of a team of permaculture designers we have designed and constructed a water harvesting system. This to revitalise the soil by slowing down water run-off, capturing water and stopping topsoil being washed away.

Water harvesting is an important function and is supported by multiple elements, consisting out of multiple swale-systems, a well and a small earth dam. We have improved the water level in the well by 800% by using a swale-system to divert the water and let it sink near the well.
